Ways to get involved

We want to work in partnership with you and for you to feel you are involved in your own recovery Journey. That is the first step to you feeling involved and engaged at Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™sÌýÌý

Involvement in your service

Involvement can happen in different ways, such as contributing to a residents meeting or joining activities that directly affect your service.

Involvement in Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s

Including volunteering in a central service team, being a member of the Client Advisory Board or working group, or joining a recruitment panel.

In your service

Ways you can get involved with activities in your service include:

  • Attending (or co-facilitating)Ìýlocal resident/client meetings
  • Becoming aÌýclient representative
  • Joining aÌýwalking groupÌýor take part in an activity
  • Providing feedback through surveys, feedback cards and other involvement opportunities
  • Becoming aÌýHealth & Safety Inspector
  • Becoming part of aÌýstaff recruitment panelÌý(speak to your Service Manager or support worker)
  • Speaking to ourÌýClient Involvement team

If you don’t live in one of our services speak to a support worker who can advise of either Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s involvement activities you can access, or community-based support.

In Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s

Become a Client Advisory Board (CAB) memberÌý– Our Client Advisory Board (CAB) is a group of clients or former clients who work in partnership with our organisation and senior leadership. Its members influence the direction of travel of St. Mungo’s and are actively involved in high level decision making.

Location: Meetings take place either at our Head Office in London or you can join remotely. Time commitment: Up to 4 hours a month for 2 years.

Becoming aÌýClient AmbassadorÌý– Use your own lived experience to help funders, corporate partners, politicians and the public understand more about homelessness and the work Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s does.ÌýÌýÌý

The role comes with training and support. This is a Flexible role and Volunteering happens on ad-hoc days, times and location when Ambassadors are needed to attend certain events.

Doing a client placement at our Head Office

We often have opportunities to undertake 6-month placements with teams in Central office. Previous placements have included fundraising, The Quality and Complaints team, Finance, and the Repairs department.
